According to the New Hampshire Union Leader, the Air Force used the hype of the Halo 3 release to sponsor a Halo 2 tournament on the night of the release. The tournament's main prize was a copy of Halo 3. The tournament was held in conjunction with a Gamestop. The tournament was delayed briefly as it was made known that no participants under the age of 18 were allowed.
Staff Sergeant Christopher Johnson said he expected the event to be a huge success based off their other event for the Madden '08 launch.
In a traditionally blue state, this tactic has rubbed some people the wrong way. It does provide the Air Force with the opportunity to engage their target demographic, but some think its exploiting kids. Let me know what you think.
